I am a work from home dad of one. A very special one that is allergic to just about everything. His reactions have ranged from tummy troubles to eczema to hives, but thankfully no anaphylaxis. My son was born, or developed shortly after, allergies to wheat, oats,cow’s milk, soy, peanuts, eggs, and cantaloupe. Having some intolerances of my own, namely cow’s milk and wheat, my wife and I are used to cooking a little different, but this has been an eye opening experience to the world of mass produced foods and the allergens that proliferate the foods that we take for granted. Not having any allergies of her own, my wife has had to cut her diet to the needs of our son while she continues to nurse him as most allergens from foods pass through breast milk. This is my attempt to document our experimentation and discovery of new ways to cook meals that we can all enjoy, pain free. I hope that this will be a help to someone that has just found out that they have an allergy to one or all of these. You don’t have to stop eating the things you love, you just have to change…
